Who we are
Utility is a multi-faceted consultancy providing design and advisory services to property development organisations and professionals, as well as construction companies and private businesses. Utility’s purpose is to reduce frustration, costs, time delays and incorrect design with the provision of Vector and Chorus connections by bridging the technical gap between development organisations and infrastructure companies. We provide expert and experienced advice, design, costing and review for a range of construction and development projects, with particular focus on high density developments.
Our consulting services are designed to bring clarity to interactions with infrastructure companies, ensuring that the project requirements are scoped and quoted accurately and in a timely manner. We work constructively with our clients and infrastructure companies to ensure that important project enabling work is coordinated at the right time and to a practical and cost effective solution, with the result being fit for construction and the completed development.
At Utility we bring a practical approach to all aspects of our project interaction, working at pace to determine project requirements and getting momentum with the delivery of these services. It is critical to engage accurately and early with Vector, Chorus and lighting design specialists to ensure that construction milestones are achieved. We provide our clients with the technical expertise to be able to confidently provision these services prior to engaging with a construction company, and prior to construction starting.
Our Purpose
We exist to help clients with the increasingly complicated and frustrating experience they face when connecting their developments to vital infrastructure.
We set about identifying opportunities where our experience and expertise could help alleviate these challenges, allowing our clients to feel confident in the process and releasing them to focus on tasks where they can add greater value. We have used our real world experience, informed by many years of exposure to a range of different projects to assemble services we believe will be of real value to our clients.

About the Directors
Utility was established by Michael Clemmett and Josh Lawrence. Having developed valuable skills and experience through their work with a large electrical contracting company, Michael and Josh identified that much of the developer interaction with infrastructure companies, and electrical services in general, could be greatly improved. As registered electricians, and involved in the design and management of numerous projects, they knew that they were uniquely placed to offer a specialised advisory service that would transform the way that clients would engage with these aspects of their projects.
Michael and Josh will bring a mix of experience, diligence and practicality to the projects they are involved in, giving straightforward recommendations and working at all times in the clients best interests. Despite being in a busy and stressful industry, you will also find that they don’t take themselves too seriously and enjoy a bit of fun along the way!
